The Resort Course (2- 4 hours)
:
For the beginner, we start with a lecture followed by confined water skills,
including mask clearing, regulator recovery and clearing, use of equipment,
buoyancy control and out of air emergency procedures. The course includes one
dive. After completing this course, you are allowed to dive again during
your vacation by doing a "Repeat Resort Dive". These dives can be done at
Stingray City. During any dive, an instructor always accompanies you. This
course is recommended if you have never dove before and want to see if you like
diving before you enroll in a full certification class.
The Open Water Referral
: (Check Out)
dives a great
program if you live in a area where there are no diving sites, or the
conditions are not very good and you would rather do your certification dives
in the Caribbean waters ... So you complete your entire academic and confined
water at home with your local dive shop, they issue you a "referral form" and
then you come down here to do your 4 certification dives. Those are done over 2
days (2 dives per day). After completing the 4 compulsory dives, you will
be certified and able to dive for the rest of your stay!
Advanced Open Water Diver
:
This course requires a total of 5 dives and can be completed in only 2 days. As
in the Open Water Diver course, there is a book that you need to read. Reading
it before hand will help speed up your course and allow you more free time to
explore the island! The first part of the course is an afternoon with your
instructor to go over what you have read and the skills you will be performing
over the next two days. Then during the next two days, you will be completing
your 5 open water dives. Two are mandatory, the deep dive and the navigation
dive. The other 3 are electives and you have a wide list to chose from such as;
search and recovery, night diver, multi-level, wreck, boat diver, peak
performance buoyancy, photography and many more. Following the completion of
the Advanced Open Water Diver certification, you can go on to Rescue Diver,
which is followed by Divemaster. Or, you can chose to do Specialty courses such
as Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Photography etc.
